Had a fabulous time in Vegas. Saw another Cirque du Soleil show (best one yet, IMO), played in the pool, won some $ and toys, ate a little sushi and steak. Spent way too much but it was sooooo worth it!
We’re heading to the MotoGP races in Laguna Seca now. Then it’s back to the Bay Area to celebrate some very important birthdays and spend some time with family. I can’t wait to see everyone, especially my nephew Ollie.
Daddy wins big in Vegas! A few minutes after I snapped this picture, Ingrid won a stuffed puppy on her own. Even before daddy won her the snake, she’d given it a name: Fuzzy. She has a pink and purple snake at home that we won in Vegas earlier this year; that one is named Fluffy.

Two kitty cats, a horse, and a cow in the RV today, packing it up and moving to Las Vegas. Bryce Canyon was spectacular!
so today was fathers day, and our last weekend in moab. silvia had been wanting to go on the river so we decided today was our last chance. we were both a little hesitant about taking ingrid on a rafting ride, but the river is pretty full and most of what we saw was pretty tame. besides silvia had read lots of reviews of the tour we did that said it was good for kids. so we figured we would give it a shot. it was all fun and games until…
needless to say that’s ingrid’s last boat ride for the foreseeable future. she in the front near me, who is second from the front on the right side. i was one of the last ones out, as evident by my yellow soled shoes sticking straight up in the air. before i was even in the water i had grabbed ingrid’s lifejacket. silvia, who was on the rear left with the cowgirl hat on, was thrown a little further from the boat but shoved her way over to ingrid as fast as possible.
the guide did a great job of restoring order. after getting himself in the boat he got the other young dad in who helped him pull in the kids and ladies first while he threw a line to a couple who were getting away from the boat. we were all pretty shook up, but overall ingrid did great. thankfully that was the biggest rapids we were going to encounter so the rest was fairly smooth sailing.
silvia and i were numb for the rest of the day over the whole incident but ingrid was over it pretty fast. by the time we got home she was playing with her stuffed animals, stuffing them in a pair of my flip flops and pretending they were in a raft hitting a “wave” she made out of a bunched up blue shirt.
as an added bonus when were got out of the river, we witnessed someone lose their van into the river while they were pulling out their boats. thankfully no one was in the van at the time, but it overcame it’s parking gear and wheel chocks and when we saw it it was at least 3/4 underwater. now that’s a bad day.
ok, i just noticed i misspelled “motorboat” in the video, it’s 1:30am, i’m not fixin it.
It’s a stay home and do laundry kind of a day. Ingrid is picking out something to wear- apparently we’re having a dance party soon. She also wants to build a nest and put it up in the little tree here.
Slimey left home the day I posted the picture, probably to build a cocoon. This morning Ingrid thinks she may have spotted him. He had turned into a butterfly!

ingrid and I watched the iron giant and it’s now her favorite movie, which is awesome because it is definitely one of my favorites!

Ingrid’s new pet caterpillar. He came to us in an ear of corn from the supermarket. Right now she’s taking him for a walk.

Ginger seems almost back to herself. Yesterday she woke up in the afternoon and looked really happy and perky. She took a long nap this morning and now she’s up and around as usual.
