Lightsabers

Thursday, September 23rd, 2010

Ingrid was inspired to make her own lightsabers yesterday, so she and daddy made some out of cardboard, duct tape, and cardstock. They turned out great! Plus, I get to write it down as Ingrid’s art project for the day.

They made the turquoise one together, that one is Ingrid’s. Then later in the day Ingrid made a red double-edged one like Darth Maul’s, a smaller green one for Yoda, and a baby-sized one for her cousin Ollie. She also made one for her friend Moises next door.

In one of the photos, I put Ingrid in the new gingham skirt I made her last night, and matching headband. She thought she was posing for the lightsaber, haha, I tricked her!

A spaceship for everyone

Andrew brought home more Star Wars Legos for Ingrid last night so she had to rework the original spaceship to accommodate more.

Little boxy bags&C3PO

Andrew upgraded my iPhone and now I can send multiple photos to the blog at once, saving me the effort of having to combine separate posts. It’s great! Except, it tends to put photos in at the wrong orientation. So, apologies if you see a photo turned the wrong way. Wait a day or two and I will have fixed it manually.

I couldn’t find a cosmetic bag I liked so I found a tutorial online and made one myself, from scrap material. A good project for me as I got to work with fusible interfacing for the first time, and to practice working with zippers again. The large bag was my first try. It cost me about $2 to make, because the zipper was half off. So much better than the $20 bags I didn’t like at Target! I also made myself a softer pincushion. Those tomato ones are too hard.

I’m putting a new schedule into place for many reasons, and I need to stay up late. This is not easy for me. So last night I kept myself awake by making this little pink bag for Ingrid. Hers is better, it’s got a nice soft fleece lining (mine is unlined). She’s using it this morning as Princess Leia’s ship : )

Clay board game

“Candyland People”. I love the little pawns best, they are Mommy, Daddy, and Ingrid. Daddy’s clay die was the inspiration for creating this game.

It’s official…

I got this for the discounts. But isn’t it just adorable? Next I want to take some school-style photos.
